Nick (00:00.185)
Watch the video I sent you.
Neil (00:04.81)
wait wait No, but did you see the Barstool video today? With Wyndham.
Nick (00:04.889)
Of him of him cheating.
Nick (00:11.216)
Which one?
Nick (00:14.656)
about a baker? Yes. Okay. Yeah. We'll throw that in soon.
Neil (00:15.958)
Yeah. Howside is that? They're like they're like, yo, you got this tweet here from two thousand and like forgot what year it was. It's like I hate Baker. It's like, do you still hate Baker? And why do you hate Baker? He's like, Well probably shouldn't say it, but
Nick (00:22.629)
Yeah, we'll throw that in too.
Nick (00:28.453)
Yeah, we'll get we'll get into that.
Nick (00:34.191)
Alright. Let's do it.
Nick (00:39.461)
What's up? It's the Height Differential. We're back on a recording on a Wednesday night. It'll hit your what? Probably Thursday morning. That's the 6'6 deal. I'm the 410 nick. We got plenty to talk about. We've been talking about Steven Foster for the last couple weeks. It is coming up this weekend at Churchill. The weather does not look fantastic. Looks like a ninety percent chance of rain. So could be could be a muddy track. Well we will get into that field. Now only five horses, but
Neil (00:56.899)
Me.
Nick (01:06.437)
Three horses in the top five of the NTR to NTRA top ten. So still a good race to look at. Wyndham Clark wins at Shinnecock while everybody is cheering against him. But he figures out a way after jumping out to an early lead, holds on, and holds off Sam Burns, who comes in second for the second year in a row. We'll talk Dusty May leaving after two years in Michigan going to the Mavericks World Cup.
Neil (01:16.246)
Mm-hmm.
Neil (01:19.69)
Right.
Nick (01:35.971)
And some other stories around sports and some maybe not in sports. But before we get started, if if you're catching in this, make sure you subscribe to the height differential, have your listen to pods, rate it and leave a review. You can also follow the height differential at height differential on all social platforms. Big race this weekend.
Neil (01:54.85)
mean you're going you're you were going through your rundown here and, you know, if if you listen to the pod and you hate the pod and never actually make it to the end, we're gonna talk about dogs and aliens. So you might wanna stick around.
Nick (02:06.011)
That helps. That helps. And there were no aliens. There were supposed to be aliens. She has millions of followers on social, so I'm sure some people were freaking out. But everybody got out of their safe. We will get into that. Yes, well they Yes, hang on because we will actually talk some fun stuff at the end of the show. But we are gonna talk Stephen Foster. Five horses. Anytime there's a big race, I think we're excited.
Neil (02:22.017)
We'll get to that later. Yeah.
Nick (02:35.939)
Especially being at our home track Churchill Downs.
You excited for the race?
Neil (02:41.857)
Yeah, no, I mean as you mentioned it coming into this there's what'd we say there's three of the five horses are in the top five in the in N T R A rankings. So I mean it's gonna be a great race, a lot of quality horses, even though it's only a five horse race. These are some of the three of the best horses in the world. so yeah, I'm excited. It should be a great a great race on Saturday.
Nick (03:04.687)
Yeah, unless you want to go against the favorites, it's probably not the best betting race because there's only five five horses. But still gonna be fun to to watch. And as you said, you got Magnitude, the second he's ranked second in NTRA. It was Watamario's third in NTRA and then Sovereignty's fourth. So and then Baez is sitting there fourteenth. So four horses are in the top fifteen of the best thoroughbreds in the world. We're gonna go through the field, we'll make our picks.
We're starting with the long shot, twenty one twenty to one morning line. Willie D's ridden by Luis Sayez, trained by Mike Maker. He's five years old. First ever graded one stakes race. You've you've got your sheets ready over there. W what's your thoughts on Willie D?
Neil (03:50.35)
I mean if we're gonna if we're gonna go and there's only five horses, so I mean there's
I think all of them could be a contender, who knows, 'cause there's only five, but this horse probably not gonna be one of those. as you mentioned. I mean he's he's it's a big step up for him. His first graded one stakes race of his career. he has won a grade three in that Kentucky Cup classic at Turfway. but I mean he's he's stepping it up. I think you mentioned he he's ran three times at Churchill, his best finished was second in an allowance race.
Yeah, I just don't see it happening. He's probably gonna wan be the horse to try to get out front, with a wet track, maybe. If it's wet out there, maybe he's gives him a maybe a little bit of a better chance. I don't know. but I just don't see him really factoring in.
Nick (04:34.149)
Yeah, by far this is the fifth best horse. Now is he is he a good horse? Yeah. But in this field, I I don't know if he matches up. He he's coming off of two straight wins. You mentioned his win in the Kentucky Club Classic at Turfway. That's an all weather track, so it's not even his his last race wasn't even on a dirt track. Mike Maker took over in o in twenty five since then. He's made eleven starts, finished worse than third only twice. So he he's consistently in in the money.
And and like you said, he's he's gonna try to get the lead, so he should be a factor in the pace. I just I don't see this horse finishing and and being able to close against this group. So I I think this is probably your fifth place finish. But if you wanna make some money and you think that he can hang on and finish second or third, that'd be a way to make your your your exact maybe pay a little.
Neil (05:28.299)
Yeah, I mean he's twenty to one for a reason and all these other horses are, you know, six to one or or less. So if you're trying to make some money, you might as well sprinkle a couple dollars on him and see what happens.
Nick (05:38.427)
We got White Abarrio, the old gray now. He's seven years old. He's ran. This is going to be his 27th race in his career. So the first two race the first two horses, this will be Willie D's 28th and White Abarrio's 27th race. Not something you see all the time anymore in races of this caliber because they go to stud. But White Abarrio, written by Irad, trained by Safi Joseph. His morning line was three to one. Did get a win in his last start.
What what you got on Water Barrio?
Neil (06:11.627)
Yeah, I mean he's coming in like we we mentioned he's third in the in in the NTRA rankings, which you know, ranks all the horses in in the world and he's he is an old horse, he's seven years old, but he he's raced in big races and he's won big races. He won the Breeders' Cup Classic. I mean it was three years ago, when he did it. He was a four year old at the time and he has also won the Pegasus World Cup, which is another huge race. So he's faced tough competition. His last time out he he beat Sovereignty, who I to mean personally I is probably gonna be my pick in this race.
he beat him by two links in the Oaklawn handicap. So he's he's coming in with some momentum. you know, it's his first race at Churchill since running in the Derby four years ago. so it's gonna be kind of an a maybe an adjustment to him to to get back out on that Churchill Churchill Downs dirt. But he's definitely a win contender.
Nick (07:01.039)
Yeah, he's just he's proven it over and over, right? And he's coming off that win i in the Oakland. I I I think the negative against him is the fact that he you said it's the first time he's racing at Churchill since the Derby. He's never won at at the Derby. He's 0 for two in in in his in his two starts. I I think so he's they've already announced that this is g gonna be his final racing year at at year seven and it'll be really cool to see him go out and winning a a race of this caliber.
picking him, I I think the setup i in the Oakland handicap really kinda played in his advantage with sovereignty and journalism really kind of dueling up front. And I I think it kind of wore down sovereignty and he wasn't able to finish. As we know with sovereignty, that's not really his running style. He's more of a a horse that's gonna be closing. So I think he had a really good setup in the Oclan.
Neil (07:49.292)
Mm-hmm.
Nick (07:56.653)
I I just I go back to it's gonna be fun to watch him run against sovereignty again, but I think the t the tide will be turned this time and I am not putting s Wide Barrio in my top two.
We now move on to last year's Derby winner, Sovereignty coming out of the three hill, ridden by Junior Alvarado, trained by Bill Mott. This your favorite horse. You love this horse. Do you even need notes on this horse or you just know it all off top of your head?
Neil (08:25.373)
I mean he's he's he's a great horse. he would he would have won the triple crown, no question, last year if he would have run. I think he probably would have won the Breeders' Cup Classic last year, if he didn't get scratched. he's he was horse of the year last year as a three-year-old. He won the Derby, won the Belmont, won the Dandy, won the Travers. Like I said, he probably would have won the Breeders' Cup Classic and the Preakness if he would have but run in either of those. so I he's to he's to me he's my pick. His last race, his only race is a four-year-old was runner-up finish, as we mentioned to White Abar.
in the Oakland handicap, which you mentioned he probably got tired dueling around with with with journalism. So I think this is this this return to Churchill is gonna be good for him. This is my pick. I'm rolling with it. Sovereignty.
Nick (09:10.82)
Yeah, don't expect Sovereignty to get out front in in this race and and duel with the lead. Like that just wasn't his style. And and with Willie Dees and with Magnitude, who we'll talk about, I think those will be the two horses out front. I mean, you just look at at Sovereignty's results over the last what one like he's go he's gone second, first, first, first, first, second, first, first, second. I mean, he doesn't finish any worse than second, and for the most part
Neil (09:27.351)
His resume. His resume. Yeah.
Nick (09:39.493)
He he's finishing in first place. We talked about the weather. I I think that the wet surface could really help his chances. as he's had a couple win on off tracks. dude, he's 59th on all time earnings already. He's seventh among active runners and he's he's four years old. I I think this is a definite, obviously, a win contender. I don't I'm gonna hold off on.
whether I'm picking this horse to win after we go through the entire field. But there there's no way to ignore this horse. And it's hard to believe that it's really only the second time we've seen him run this year and the second time since last August. So just just fun to get get sovereignty out there. And I look, dude, when Derby winners come back for their four-year-old year instead of going to stud, because it is a win.
Neil (10:33.269)
It's a win. It's a win for everybody. Yeah.
Nick (10:35.224)
It's a it's and it's a win for yeah, for for sure. So excited, but no, no doubt. This horse is a win consider. In the four hole you have Baeza, morning line of six to one, Flavian Pratt back aboard, Bill Mott, the trainer.
Another four year old, another horse that was on the triple po triple crown circuit last year. Your thoughts on Baeza?
Neil (10:58.167)
Yeah, I mean he's he's been tested. You know, he ran that triple crown last year and and he he ran the Breeders' Cup Classic last year. So, you know, he's running big races. He hasn't gotten, you know, the win results that that maybe his his connections have hoped for. You know, he ran third in the Derby in the Belmont last year to sovereignty, who we just talked about. You know, he did win the Pennsylvania Derby last September over magnitude, who we'll get to here in a second. And magnitude is currently ranked second in the rankings. So I mean that's that's that's
a a big notch on his belt there to to take a horse down like magnitude. you know it his last race was on Oaks Day and we were there for that when he finished third in the Alice mistakes. You know the the the rap on that was he got a a bad break out of the gate and you know tried to come on at the end, lost by three quarters of a length to corporate power and Skippy Long stockings. But I think he's still a quality horse.
I think he's a really good horse. I just don't think he's as good as maybe some of these other ones that are in here, 'cause he's lost to them before. He's just always kinda been that third place horse and I think that's probably where he'll end up around in this race, probably that third or fourth place finish.
Nick (12:08.09)
Yeah, I I think you can kind of toss the the G Alley Sheba a little bit because of his hesitant start. Like you said, it got I mean, spotted the everybody seven lengths at the start of that race, but rally strong finished within, you know, a length of of of the of the lead. but the problem is this horse has raced ten times and has two wins. And the the one great estate win was the win at the Pennsylvania Pennsyl Pennsylvania Derby, which which you talked about.
This is a talented horse. There's no doubt about it. He's for the most part, he's always up there. He finished sixth in in the Breeders' Cup. But other than that, he's for every other race in his life, he's finished in the top three. And in a five horse field, I think there's a good chance that that could continue. Could could this horse figure out a way to to shock everybody and and win? I
Neil (12:55.969)
Good.
Nick (13:04.952)
I don't think he's proven that he likes to pass horses enough to do that. I think this will be the horse that is coming from the back. And maybe if it's if magnitude and Willie D's just really make it a hot pace, maybe he has a chance. I I think this is probably your third place finisher i in this race. And it's just it's what he's done. What he's done. I I do think Flavian Pratt back aboard helps, but I just
That's that's who this horse is. He's he's a third place finisher and that's where I see him finishing on Saturday.
In the fifth hole, it's magnitude seven to two on the morning line. Jose Ortiz aboard Steve Asmussen, the trainer.
He is ranked number two in the NTRA rankings. Didn't race in a triple crown last year due to a bone chip in his ankle. But has is on the improve and a lot of people are saying this is one of the best horses in the country. Your thoughts?
Neil (14:08.097)
Yeah, no, he's probably the hottest horse coming into this. He's won his last three starts, including that Dubai World Cup. and and it Clark Stakes also that he ran at Churchill. So he just won recently at Churchill, which which is you know, s says something about him there. it sucks he didn't run the triple crown last year 'cause he had that bone chip, as you mentioned. He did lose in the Travers last year to sovereignty and he did lose the Pennsylvania Derby to Baeza, to the horses as we mentioned that are in this field. So he can be beaten, but he's coming in, he's coming in hot.
this is a horse that yeah, he's gonna like we it's gonna be him. and what was his name? something deep. Willie D's will be out front. Yeah, Willie D's. Magnitude and Willie D's will be probably the two horses that you see out fronts trying to set the tone. So Magnitude's gonna look to probably go try to go wire to wire. See if we can do it. I don't know. He like I said, he's coming in hot, so don't don't bet against him.
Nick (14:46.768)
Will it will it's
Nick (15:01.902)
His his gonna be his fourteenth start. He has seven wins in his life's history. H his last race was the Dubai World Cup three months ago. So he's on he's had plenty of rest. He beat Forever Young in the Dubai World Cup, who last year, as we all know, won the Breeders' Cup Classic. Took the lead immediately in in that race. Went wire to wire with with Hors Jose Ortiz aboard, and that race was a mile and a quarter. Now we're going a mile and eighth, so
Like like you said, none of these horses are gonna have a problem getting the distance, but if this horse is able to get the get the lead and just kind of control the pace, I I I this I think is probably the best horse in the field right now. he ranks twenty-sixth all time in earnings, so even higher than than Sovereignty in the Dubai World Cup has a lot to do with that. And and he ranks fourth among among active horses.
Neil (15:55.361)
Yeah, that's that's a rich race right there.
Nick (16:00.291)
I I think Steve Asmussen is a really big plus for magnitude here because yeah.
Neil (16:05.599)
And Jose. I think both the connections hit Steve and and Jose Ortiz is the jockeys is huge.
Nick (16:10.906)
But Steve Asmussen just has a tendency for his horses to get better with age. he won the 2017 Foster with with Gunrunner. He won the 2008 with with Curlin. And neither one of those were horses that won the Derby. And were horses that just continually improved. And really are horses that you still think of today when you think of winning horses. so I think maybe he's kind of doing the the same thing with with magnitude.
But this horse is a definite win contender and will be will be cool for everybody to see him race a race on this stage in in the States after going to Dubai a couple of months ago.
So if you had to pick a top three in the exact order.
Neil (17:01.527)
No, let's go. Let's let's go. Let's just go through the I mean there's only five horses here. Let's let's put our horses in order and obviously we've got Captain D's or Willie D's. Sorry about that. Willie D's in fifth. We don't even need to No. So we're gonna go our top four. Yeah, like Willie D's is out. So our top four in order. You want me to go first or you wanna you wanna go?
Nick (17:12.41)
There's no way you're throwing in a Willie D's, right?
Nick (17:23.345)
I mean I there's yeah, I mean I you can go first. I've got my order.
Neil (17:29.429)
I've got my order. I'm I'm not going against my buddy's sovereignty. Like that's that's the horse that I love. I'm on him. It's gonna be a duel. These four horses are gonna just duel it out and I can't wait. It's gonna be him. I've got magnitude in a very, very close second.
just for the reasons we mentioned about how he's just been on a tear lately. So sovereignty, magnitude. I'm gonna go Baeza in third, just because he always seems to find his way there. Plus it's six to one. If you're gonna try to make any money in in a in a try, you gotta probably throw him in there. so I'm gonna go Baeza third and then White Abarrio in fourth. But I mean that I think the four of them will be w all within
Four or five lengths of each other there. I mean it's gonna be close.
Nick (18:13.827)
And dude, why Dobara could win this race. There's i any of those four can win it. Why
Neil (18:17.643)
Yeah, yeah. It's hard. It's hard to pick.
Nick (18:20.331)
I think with five horses and you're gonna have Willie Dees and Magnitude up top. Even if Willie Dees gets the lead because he's in the one hole, magnitude's gonna be right there in the two, ready to pounce. I think he's gonna have clearly be able to get this distance. I don't think it's gonna collapse at all to where any of these stalkers are going to be able to get the lead from from magnitude. So I got magnitude winning the race. Sovereignty doesn't finish worse than second.
Ever. So I've got him finishing second. And then just like you, I Baeza is a third place horse. It's just it's what he is at this point. I've got Baeza in third. And dude, I love Waida Barrio. And so much respect for the fact that he's seven years old and might be in a near corresp career best form at at seven years old. But he was able to finish on on a fast pace where sovereignty did was up front. Really, I don't think that's the best position for him.
Neil (18:56.001)
That's what he does. What he does.
I do too. I do too.
Neil (19:09.739)
Yeah. Yeah.
Nick (19:18.681)
So the setup was perfect. So I've got White Abario finishing in fourth. So we're going magnitude sovereignty by Aza.
Neil (19:26.719)
Okay. So we we were basically the same, we just flip flopped our one and two.
Nick (19:31.064)
Now look, dude, if it's a wet track, will that maybe make me change my mind? Probably not, but I think that favors sovereignty. But if I'm going to get magnitude at I mean seven to two on the morning line, do I think he'll go off it? Seven to two? I'm not sure. Like I I would say that I mean sovereignty, I know he's a derby horse at Churchill. He's gonna get bet. Do you think he'll go off at six to five or
Will how will those odds change?
Neil (20:05.325)
I mean, I don't see it I don't see it changing much. I think it'll be cl close to six to five. I mean, you might get it maybe two to one. I don't know. Like that's two to one. Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
Nick (20:09.967)
Could it get even?
Nick (20:14.935)
There's no way he's moving a two to one.
Derby winner at back at Churchill.
Neil (20:23.787)
Yeah. three to two? I don't know. What it I don't know.
Nick (20:26.945)
I I don't think it's gonna move much. I think it he could move as high as even. I that many people are gonna bet him, which makes me lean magnitude even more. Because if magnitude's going off at seven to two, four to one in this race, I think there's absolute value there. I I think it'll the odds will switch though a little bit. I think magnitude will probably end up being a little closer to three to one and white of odds will will move up a little bit to where he's closer to four or five.
Neil (20:55.98)
Yeah.
Nick (20:55.993)
f off that three to one line. And then Baez will probably be around where he is and nobody's gonna I nobody's gonna touch Willie D's unless you're just trying to hit a lottery ticket. But dude, he's never ran into grade one before. Maybe he likes the company and figures it out.
Neil (21:00.136)
I agree.
Neil (21:10.734)
It's it's a good name. Like if you're gonna bet if you're gonna bet names, Willie D's kind of a cool name.
Nick (21:17.697)
It's it's if you if you're betting the name, yeah, that that would be a good one to roll with. Plus you're probably gonna get twenty twenty-five to one. last year in the in this receiver foster Mindframe got the win. Sierra Leone, who was coming off the Breeders' Cup Classic, came in second place. So excited for this race. Gonna be fun to see Sovereignty and and Whiteabario go against it and see Magnitude go against some of these horses that he's seen before, but some that he hasn't. And
Neil (21:22.507)
People do. People bet names. They do that.
Neil (21:38.263)
Yeah.
Nick (21:46.921)
Is magnitude worthy of that number two NTRA ranking and can he take care of this field?
But if he gets out front, it I just don't see sovereignty finishing.
Nick (22:02.383)
You got any smack talk you wanna talk about go goat and tempo?
Neil (22:07.149)
We'll leave him alone for a week. Yeah, we'll leave him alone for a week.
Nick (22:09.283)
Leave alone.
Nick (22:13.243)
One one player that a lot of people were talking smack against, but he d he didn't care.
Wyndham Clark, who we've had we've been on text about this guy. I'm I'm not a I'm not a Wyndham Clark guy. And admittedly a lot of that stems from 2023 when he beat Ricky out in LA in the US Open. But there's other things that have made me not like him as well. And we we're going to get into that. But he jumps out to a 64 on Thursday, plays in the afternoon. Everybody's talking about how the afternoon's gonna be tough.
Neil (22:26.614)
Uh-huh.
Neil (22:37.292)
Yeah.
Nick (22:51.745)
It wasn't. Well he he fired a sixty-four credit to him 'cause everybody else had the same conditions. And you jump out to a lead of that magnitude, get to the final day. He had a w he had a shot he had a what was his stroke lead? At one point he had a seven stroke lead, I think, on on Sunday. Ends up winning by one, fires a s a three over seventy three to finish four under. Made so many long par putts and a
a big birdie putt when he went from the weeds on sixteen and then and then after missing the but par putt on seventeen it closes out with with the two put on eighteen. But with everybody against him, you see your lead shrinking and you figure out a way to win. I you gotta give the dude some credit.
Neil (23:25.057)
Yeah.
Neil (23:41.314)
Yeah, you got him credit. I mean, a sixty four at the US Open is is
Insane, like, you know, with the conditions. Yeah, I mean it insane with the conditions that the US Open has and you know you know, you shoot one or two under and you're in a good spot and he's shooting six under. So he really won that tournament there in round one, but he didn't hurt himself in round two, round three, played good golf, was one under in round two, even par in round three, so he never really, you know, gave it up until round four and he had such a a a big enough lead to where a three over wasn't gonna hurt him. it almost did, but it didn't, you know, yeah.
Nick (23:46.927)
Especially at that place.
Nick (24:14.165)
Neil (24:15.267)
I he he closed it out like he needed to. Like you said, that birdie on on sixteen was from the weeds was was incredible. you take that two shot lead with two to play and you know, I'm you're thinking it's pretty much over. But you know, he he made it interesting with the bogey on seventeen and then on eighteen on his his second shot into the green, he didn't look like he liked it. He looked like he he's like, Yeah, he looked like he like, like where's this gonna go? And it finds the front edge of the green and you know, he absolute beautiful putt.
Nick (24:35.627)
He looked like he hated it.
Neil (24:44.225)
to within tap in distance. so I'm not a Wyndham Clark hater. I I said this last week. I said how how well he was playing and how he was gonna be a contender to win this. And I don't hate him like like you do or Andrew Miller or any of our other friends or most of other people in golf. to I I mean just from from I liked him from watching him on full swing in his story, you know, about how he overcame some stuff with his mom passing away and all that. And what a great moment to have his dad surprise him there on on the eighteenth green after after it was all over. So
Nick (24:44.783)
Yeah.
Neil (25:14.199)
I'm not a Wyndham Clark hater. I a soft spot in my heart. Good for him. Good for him. Good job, Wyndham.
Nick (25:19.885)
Yep. Look, I'm a golf guy and I mean, dude, just see like you gotta give him credit for the way they battled through and the galers were totally against him. Like there were spectators getting kicked out for the for the for the way they were treating him and the things that they were saying. Boo like cheering when balls fall off the green and in like you just don't see that against American players in the US open. Like former US Open winners.
Neil (25:42.549)
American on a in the US open. I'm like what the What are we doing?
Nick (25:49.304)
And yeah, seeing his dad there w was was really cool. I I felt bad for Sam Burns his two years in a row where he's really been in contention. And he played really well on Sunday. And had two birdie putts on seventeen and eighteen. Didn't really give the one on seventeen a chance. And then I think he thought he made the one on eighteen and it just didn't fall. And like his dad was there too. And you see him tearing up talking about what it meant and how his dad was saying he's proud of him and you know, it's on Father's Day. Like
Neil (26:18.295)
Godfather's Day, yeah. It's Godfather's Day.
Nick (26:19.309)
It's on Father's Day. Like all of that i is is is really is really cool. I admittedly am not a Wendham Clark guy. Do what do I hate him? No, it's it's not it's not hate. I wouldn't be on the golf course booing the man to his face. I would not be doing that. but like some of this stuff that he is getting, he is brought upon himself with the ways that he has acted.
Neil (26:31.063)
Yeah, you don't.
Nick (26:48.875)
in in the past. Like you you can't just go and destroy the locker room at Oakmont. You can't just throw your club and you know, strike a sponsor sign at at Quill Hollow. Like it you can't just do this kind of stuff and think there's not gonna be a repercussion.
Neil (26:50.229)
Yeah.
Punch a locker.
Neil (27:09.239)
He's like us. How many times on a golf course have you wanted to throw like you wanted to throw a club or hit a sponsor sign? It happens. It happens.
Nick (27:15.715)
Mean i I I'm not gonna I okay, that might happen where I wanna throw a club. Will I throw it? Probably not. And there's a whole nother level when you talk about throwing a club and trashing an entire locker room.
Neil (27:30.379)
No, I wouldn't do that. No, yeah, trash in the locker room's a little too far, but
Nick (27:33.806)
Like that just you're coming off as a spoiled brat. And look, it turns a lot of people off. And I get it. I get it. But I I here's another thing too. The reason that he was treated this way, he's playing with Scotty. On Scotty's birthday, Scotty's going for he's going for his fourth major. Like trying to get them all, get the grand slam. And everybody loves Scotty. They're singing happy birthday to Scotty. So he's also kind of just in the crosshairs of that.
So that played a role in it too.
Neil (28:07.595)
Also, we talked about Yeah, I w I mean I agree. I I agree.
Nick (28:07.917)
Do not agree? Like but
Like if if Wyndham was playing with a decky or or somebody that's not from the USA in the final pairing, do you think he would have been treated differently? I I think there's a chance.
Neil (28:23.757)
If he was playing with what if was playing with Rory?
Nick (28:26.019)
Yeah. Or or Rory or Tommy or
Neil (28:27.821)
I mean they you see the heckling of Rory in the US Open where he spectator was heckling him and Rory called the guy fat.
Nick (28:34.829)
Yeah. But I do think that Wyndham has a little bit of a villainous personality. I think he kind of I think he absolutely embraces it. And I don't know if you saw did you see what he did at at the Canadian Open a couple weeks ago?
Neil (28:44.725)
If I'm him I play into it. Play into it.
Neil (28:55.207)
d what no, what did he do?
Nick (28:56.633)
They ha they have a stadium hole on a par three and dude w walks out in a Hughes hockey jersey. A USA Hughes hockey jersey and and hits this ball in the in the tournament wearing that jersey. So he he embraces this. I do I I do like that. I do like that. But I I will never be Windham guy. I
Neil (29:06.189)
Good for him.
Neil (29:12.727)
Good for him. How do you not like that? How do you not like that?
Nick (29:24.107)
I wanted to see Scotty win, I wanted to see Sam Burns win, but I I do not hate Wyndham Clark. But you can't act the way you did and then expect people to just forget it because you apologize.
Neil (29:38.377)
Speaking of like club speaking of club donor that didn't walking Neiman get a two stroke penalty for doing that?
Nick (29:38.692)
That's fine.
Nick (29:43.917)
Yeah, he dropped an F bomb through a club and got a two stroke knife.
Neil (29:45.707)
Yeah. So if he without the two stroke penalty, he finishes tied for third. And instead he's now you've T seven. That's a lot of money.
Nick (29:53.464)
And he would have been he would have been one he would have been another one under par, right? Yeah. 'Cause
Neil (29:56.802)
Yeah, he would have been one under and he would have been tied for third. That's a lot of money that that F bomb and club slam cost you there. How much let's see how much money that would have cost. He made six hundred and seventeen thousand. He would have been around right around one point five million. So about nine hundred thousand dollar club slam and f bomb. Yeah. That's a lot.
Nick (30:03.415)
It it did. It did. But
Nick (30:16.057)
Fine. It's basically a fine. It's basically a fine. But only three three players finished under par. Tom Kim also finished at one under.
Neil (30:25.432)
good yeah, love to see I do love Tom Kim. Good to see him back up there in the top three. I don't know.
Nick (30:30.423)
He had to qualify for the tournament because he's so far out of the so good for him. And dude, here's another thing about Wyndham Clark. He's won this tournament twice in six starts. And there's only one, two, three, three other golfers that have done that. John McDermott did it in four. Walter Hagen did it in five, and Ernie Ernie Ells also did it in five. So
Neil (30:34.615)
Who does not have to qualify next year?
Nick (31:00.269)
And he dude, he talked about it and he he he owned it in in in the media postgame. You know, he said I I get it, some of it's self deserved and he did some unfortunate things that he regrets and you know, like like you said, he apologized, but that stuff's gonna follow him around for a while.
Neil (31:20.597)
Yeah. I'm I I I don't hate him. I hope he wins couple more.
Nick (31:25.753)
I don't think hatred i is the word, dude. It's just you can't cheer for everybody on the tour. Just 'cause you don't cheer for them doesn't mean that it's hatred.
Like I don't I I don't think we should be cheering balls that fall off the green. PGA tour events, specifically the US opens. Unless it's unless it's Ryder Cup and you're cheering it for the USA. Then you can do that. But like you you just don't see stuff like that very often on the PGA Tour.
Neil (31:56.341)
Mm-hmm.
Nick (31:57.434)
But dude, he's he's playing so well right now. And I mean, the the way he like he wasn't even striking the ball that great Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It's just he kept saving himself with the putter.
Neil (31:59.906)
Very well.
Neil (32:11.714)
Yeah.
Nick (32:13.581)
And if you can make shots, you can make putts like that, you're gonna you're gonna still be in it and that's why why why he was able to hang on.
But good for him. It was cool to see him and his dad celebrate afterwards. Two two US opens now in the last four years is is pretty impressive.
Neil (32:32.621)
Pretty good. Pretty good.
Nick (32:36.353)
Move on to a little hoops. We got some news that I think was unexpected earlier in this week. Coming off a national championship in his second year at Michigan. Dusty May leaves, goes to the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks. How how caught off guard were you by the by this news?
Neil (32:55.815)
Yeah, no, I was caught off guard. I think everybody was caught off guard. Kind of sent a little shockwave through college basketball and sports fans and nobody I don't think anybody really expected it. But, you know, I mean I think he he went to the NBA just to focus on coaching. I don't think you know, he he won his national title in college. So he's been at the at the top of the b of the mountain there. He can go to the NBA and just coach. He doesn't have to worry about recruiting players or NIL this, NIL that, you know.
He can go just coach and and then use as you said the other day, like if you fail with the Mavericks, there's always gonna be a pretty good college job waiting for you when you win that national title. So go make some more money, go focus on coaching, and if it doesn't work out, you can go back to college and coach a really, really good team and and and be just fine.
Nick (33:42.714)
Yeah, I don't I don't know how I'm supposed to have a take on this now that you just stole my take on text. But but yeah, I mean that's the truth. Like in a nobody wants to deal with NIL and transfer portal. It's constant. You just win a national title. He's got two he's got two guys coming back in Cadot and and McKinney, but you still gotta build the rest of your roster after that. And you have to do it consistently every single year. Figure out a way to get money to pay these guys, talk into coming back.
Plus the money. Like it's it's just it's too much. It's not sustainable. And when you get an opportunity to go to Mavericks, you get paid more, because he's gonna get paid more at the Mavericks than he was getting paid at Michigan, I'm sure. And like nobody not many college coaches have gone to the pro level and had success. There's very few. So I don't think anybody really expects him to go there and win. But you get an opportunity to coach Cooper Flag.
Neil (34:23.767)
Probably.
Neil (34:32.78)
Very few.
Nick (34:41.549)
You get an opportunity to coach Morez Johnson, who you just drafted ninth overall. And then, like you said, when you've been there three, four years, maybe even shorter than that, and they decide to move on and bring in somebody else, you can get any job you want in the country. Any job. And get get paid again and start on a new contract. And now you're back in the NIL and and transfer portal world. But maybe by then the rules are different.
Neil (34:56.929)
Yeah. Yeah.
Neil (35:06.849)
Yeah. No. I mean you just look at like Billy Donovan, for instance, you know, won two national titles at Florida, was the hottest college basketball coach, goes to the NBA, has mediocre success, wasn't great.
But his name is mentioned in every single job search search that comes open in college basketball for all the blue bloods. Everybody's like Billy Donovan, Billy. So this is the same kind of thing. Like you said, if you go and you fail, your name's gonna come up in every job search in college basketball because you've won that national title. You've proven your success in college basketball. You're still gonna you're gonna be won it.
Nick (35:39.919)
I mean it for sure. For sure. And if Billy Donovan wanted to take a college job right now, he could find one. That's somebody take him. There there's no doubt about it. And he could take off this year and get one next year if that's what he wants to do. But there's always going to be a college job. There's not always going to be an NBA job. Now he could potentially get another NBA job, but that I there is for a fact a college team that would hire Billy Donovan right now without even thinking about it.
Neil (35:53.549)
Mm-hmm.
Neil (36:09.021)
i in a a premier programme would probably do it.
Nick (36:12.001)
Absolutely. Absolutely. It
Neil (36:14.706)
Mm. And Billy Ottave hadn't coached college in fifteen years, I feel like.
Nick (36:19.981)
I don't think it's been that long, but it it's been a long time.
Neil (36:21.557)
Feel like been a long time.
Nick (36:24.173)
Here's another thing with Dusty Mate. Dude was a manager at at Indiana.
Neil (36:28.694)
Are you, yeah.
Nick (36:30.891)
And was kind of just moved through the ranks like because you're not a well known player. So like you've heard stories about him, you know, with with Coach Cow, like he drove overnight to meet with him and ended up getting some position with them and was able to parlay that into an assistant job at Eastern Michigan, then Murray State, then UAB, then Louisiana Tech, then Florida. And then he got the head coaching job at Florida Atlantic.
Those first couple of years at Florida Atlantic, they were 17 and 16, 17 and 15, 13 and 10, and 19 and 15. There's a lot of places where you're hovering around 400 or 500 for four years. You might not get a fifth year. Now, Florida Atlantic's probably not in that, it not in that that kind of situation. But there are places where if you do that, you could lose your job. He then goes 35 and 4 the next year, gets to the final four.
Neil (37:13.461)
Yeah, for Atlanta's not one of those places. Yeah. No.
Nick (37:27.107)
Goes 25 and 9 the next year, gets makes the tournament, and then gets a job in Michigan, goes to a sweet 16, and then had what was probably the best team the whole entire year. And and and wins wins the whole thing last year. Does he does he take this job if Michigan doesn't win at all?
Neil (37:38.913)
Yes.
Neil (37:49.399)
it depends on how far he gets. I mean, I don't know if he gets offered
Nick (37:51.245)
No, like say they got to the title game and they lose. D does he take this job?
Neil (37:58.104)
Tough. That's really tough. I mean it made his decision a whole lot easier winning that title. I know that, but that's tough. Probably. 'Cause like you said, like NBA jobs don't come all around all the time, so you probably gotta take it when you can. but that it makes it a lot tougher.
Nick (38:15.178)
I I think it's a lot tougher. And you know, you know you're gonna have a pretty good team next year. Are you gonna be as good as you were next year? Probably not. You're you're losing Yaxel, you're losing Mores Johnson, you're losing Mara, like you're losing a lot of talent there. But they are still bringing some guys back and they're gonna bring in some other guys through the portal and and through the recruiting ranks. So maybe if he doesn't win, they they fall just short, maybe he comes back. But I I think you're right. I think he still ends up it's too tempting.
To take these jobs, get paid more, and just like you said, get to coach. Like you you only have to coach. And that's why these things are so tempting. It's why we've seen so many coaches retire early. It because they don't want to deal with all this. And but everybody talks about all the players leaving all the time, going whenever they want. And then a coach does it. Are those same are those same people saying the same thing? Because coaches have always had the ability to do this.
Neil (39:03.053)
Yeah.
Neil (39:14.005)
Yeah, I mean but this at least is a step up. It's not like you went to another college. Like this it's a step up in the career. Like you you can't it's not the same. You can't blame for this.
Nick (39:24.814)
How long's he last in Dallas?
Neil (39:30.061)
Three years.
Nick (39:33.226)
In back.
Neil (39:33.509)
they got a they a they got a g a good core. They got a a good young nucleus there. I mean Cooper Flags is a stud. Like Morris Johnson has a a potential to be really good and shock like that was the most obvious draft pick that was gonna happen last night was him going to the Mavericks.
Nick (39:48.78)
Mean, do you think that's just him saying you gotta get this guy or are they already gonna bring him in?
Neil (39:52.462)
No, I think I think that's the guy you want. I think I think he was the reason. Yeah. I think he was the reason that Morez Johnson is now there.
Nick (40:00.287)
I it looks like that, but
Neil (40:03.073)
I mean he's he I mean, don't get me wrong, he's a great player and deserved a that that that high of a draft pick. Well I mean he's a first rounder. But yeah, I mean I th but I do I think that that I I think Dusty's the reason that he got drafted there. But I don't know, what do you think? Do you think he has success? Is Kyrie still where's Kyrie? Is he playing? What's he doing?
Nick (40:08.62)
He wasn't on boards that high.
Nick (40:13.624)
Yeah, for sure.
Nick (40:19.992)
Here.
Nick (40:24.024)
Yeah, but who knows?
Who knows? here's what I here's what I say. I think he's coaching Indiana twenty eight, twenty nine.
Neil (40:27.951)
I I don't know, what do you think?
Neil (40:36.193)
You don't think Darren DeVries is gonna work out in Bloomington, huh?
Nick (40:41.356)
I think Dustin May is the head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers for the twenty eight, twenty nine season. I think this sets it up.
Neil (40:48.503)
So we're twenty six, twenty seven, we gotta go twenty seven, twenty so three years from now? Two seasons with the Mavs, and then he's at Indiana. Okay. Okay.
Nick (40:55.682)
Yep. At it twenty nine thirty at the at the latest, but I
I I think there's a chance if DeVries gets fired that he could leave the Mavericks and take that job without even getting fired.
Neil (41:14.007)
I mean he could have had he could have had that job last year.
Nick (41:14.062)
Because
Yeah, but this is different. He wouldn't leave Michigan after one year. And we've we've
Neil (41:22.635)
Well, you think you think if if IU had fired Woodson one year earlier, he would have taken that job instead of the Michigan job?
Nick (41:27.618)
Yeah. A thousand percent.
thousand I mean they're proving that they've got re they're given resources and he's an alum he's an alum there. They are football school now. But I I think this sets it up. And I mean maybe I th I guess there's a chance he'll go and have Dylan Mavericks and has success, but we just haven't seen that. Like Larry Brown, like who else has been a college coach that has had a lot of success?
Neil (41:37.303)
They're a football school anyway, We're a football school.
Neil (41:55.455)
didn't didn't Brad Stevens didn't Brad Stevens have success with the Celtics?
Nick (42:00.781)
Yeah, I guess Yeah, he did. It just hasn't happened very often. You go to the Celtics, that's a little different. It's setting you up.
Neil (42:08.139)
No, it does. It does not happen very often. It does not happen.
Nick (42:11.746)
But I don't know. Was not expecting that news earlier in this week, but in hindsight, it just doesn't surprise me. And I think you're gonna start seeing this more often. Just because like you said, nobody wants to deal with it. Morris Johnson went ninth. That was the first real surprise in the draft. The first eight were all just as were predicted. Draft Falls on a Tuesday night kind of caught me off guard. Did you still follow it last night?
Neil (42:23.179)
Yeah. Yeah.
Neil (42:39.725)
I stopped after like the twelfth pick. 'Cause then it it didn't really matter.
Nick (42:46.53)
Yeah, the first four I think are really good. This this here's my thing. Like we admitted last year how it was probably the fewest NBA games we watched during the regular season. And even the playoffs, like the first couple of rounds, I don't think we were locked in. You would admit to that, right? And then it got to the semis, and and I think from that point on, we were watching it.
Neil (42:57.868)
Mm-hmm.
Neil (43:04.173)
Correct.
Neil (43:08.961)
Yeah, we were we were watching. Yeah.
Nick (43:11.692)
With that and with the fact that we watch a lot of college hoops and we're familiar with a lot of these guys in this draft. I mean, that's the thing. These last couple of drafts haven't had a ton of college kids. So Yeah. So so they're drafting players that you're not familiar with that don't give you a reason to want to tune in. But now that we've seen a lot of these guys play in what is probably one of the best draft classes we've seen in a long time, do you think you'll watch more NBA next year in the regular season?
Neil (43:24.033)
No, it's been Europeans and yeah. Yeah.
Neil (43:40.778)
No, I don't think so. Not the regular season. I mean probably not. I mean, maybe the Pacers, because I do like the Pacers, but like I mean, it's just such like I'm not staying up at ten o'clock to watch the Sacramento Kings. or I'm not staying up at at ten o'clock to watch the Utah Jazz and Darren Peterson. Like, not doing it. Will I follow it? Yeah. Sure. But like the like
Nick (43:42.797)
At all.
Nick (43:48.494)
But they didn't even draft anybody.
Nick (44:00.335)
Well they they do play they do play East Coast games too. Like they're all of their games aren't in Salt Lake City.
Neil (44:07.615)
I know, but like half of are. But will I follow like the player? Like, yeah, but how many DeBonsa put up last night? How many Peterson put up last night? I'll probably keep up with Michael Brown Jr., because he's a Louisville guy and you he's a e he's an East Coast now with the with the Nets. So might w might might keep up with that and see how they're doing, but I don't expect the Nets to be very good. but no, I mean, will I keep up with it more? Yes. Will I watch more? Probably not. I'll catch the highlights on Sports Center.
Nick (44:32.63)
Okay, so I was gonna say you're not watching, but you're you're getting the the morning paper out, the courier journal, you're going to the box scores, you're flipping through the box scores, and that's how you're gonna get your your MBA information next year.
Neil (44:40.843)
Yes. A hundred. I would do that, yes. Well I w I will watch some games, but I mean eighty two game regular season in the NBA is just
Nick (44:52.322)
They gotta figure out a way to make it not boring. There's no doubt. Because the
Neil (44:57.067)
The NBA Cup. They tried the NBA Cup and I don't really care about that either.
Nick (45:00.588)
Yeah, you've already cussed me out for trying to talk about how it's predicted the the NBA finals over the last couple years, so we're not gonna go into that. But yeah, nobody cares who wins the NBA Cup. And it's just the season's too long. The season is just too long. And the games aren't competitive enough. They you don't see teams going full out for forty eight minutes enough. They see too many players taking games off. They got a lot of issues that they need to fix.
Neil (45:25.879)
You don't
Neil (45:30.081)
They need to go, I mean, I know baseball's a hundred and sixty two games because they play three game series, but go the route that baseball went is if you're in the national league, you play the teams in the American League one time. In the NBA, if you're in the Eastern Conference, you're playing a home at home with the Western Conference. You don't need to do that. Play one time and you rotate. Like you play if you play Phoenix and Phoenix this year, then you get Phoenix at your place next year. No, but it's gonna shorten the season.
Nick (45:52.93)
So that's how you're fixing to get people to watch?
so you you just want to shorten the season? I mean
Neil (45:59.094)
Yeah. I would probably watch more if it was on like two nights a week instead of every three, five I don't know. Fifty? Fifty.
Nick (46:03.438)
I mean, so what's the number? Like where do you go from eighty where do you go from eighty two? Like if it's sixty, are you watching? Fifty. Like it's never gonna happen. They're that's throwing away too much money. It's so all it the season is too long, but it's going to be that. That can't that's never gonna be the fix. They're never gonna shorten the season. They're never gonna shorten any seasons. No matter what sport. The seasons will never get shorter, they will get longer. As we will see.
Neil (46:14.56)
I know.
Neil (46:29.357)
Start it start the season later. Start the season after Christmas. You know, like don't compete with the NFL in October and November and you know, like nobody's watching the NBA i during that time or even December. Nobody's watching the NBA. You might watch Christmas Day, but I'm not watching December twenty third in NBA basketball when the NFL is on. Not doing it. Start the season after Christmas, after the new year. Yet you're gonna compete with college basketball, but you're only gonna compete with them until March, and then it's your time to shine.
It's your time to shine that March through June.
Nick (47:01.528)
You're still not gonna you're it doesn't fix it though, and you're short in the season, which isn't gonna happen.
Neil (47:07.169)
Why you why are you fixing it? More people will pay attention. They're like nobody's paying attention to NBA early. But that it needs to.
Nick (47:10.86)
You the season is not gonna get shortened. That is not an option. Like I don't disagree that it needs to, but it is absolutely not an option. So they have to fi I don't know what you do, but I will say the season's always been eighty two games and I used to watch
Neil (47:21.409)
Then I don't know how
Neil (47:27.533)
You either love the NBA or you hate I don't think there's really a fix. It's either you you love it or you hate it.
Nick (47:31.372)
But we y we used to watch a lot more when it was eighty two games. We used to watch Break.
Neil (47:35.925)
the in the nineties. I love well nineties basketball just it's just di but it was a different era. It's a different time. It's a different way of playing. It's all different.
Nick (47:40.958)
All dude, that's the same thing for baseball, for football. They're all different eras. All the areas have changed. The NBA is not the only areas that's changed. But it's the but it's the only one that we don't watch the regular season. We 162 Major League Baseball, we still watch our team almost every single night.
Neil (47:50.157)
I just feel like it's softer now.
Neil (47:59.736)
Well, your superstars in the NBA now are playing half seasons. Like, we have guys that don't even qualify for MVP races because they decided to sit out so many games. Like, I mean, you gotta force your superstars to play. You gotta put them, you know, the most exposure that you can. Like, you just gotta stop being soft. Stop being soft. Stop giving technicals for everything. Stop like just stop being soft.
Nick (48:09.378)
Big problem.
Nick (48:24.366)
I guess stop being soft, I guess, is a way to fix it. But I don't know. I I am excited I'm a as a Bulls fan growing up with with Jordan, I am excited that they've got Caleb Wilson and gives them a player that they can kind of build around. And I will be excited to watch them play a little more.
Neil (48:27.637)
New motto. Not being soft.
Neil (48:41.485)
Okay, so we we talked about what do you think what did WNBA do? They nobody paid attention to WNBA four or five years ago. A lot of people pay attention to it now, including myself. I I find myself watching WNBA games because they're better product now. What did they do? Take a lesson from them. Well Caitlin Clark, but it's also Angel Re like there's there's a lot of young, good superstars that you know that took over college basketball. Everybody knew them, so maybe this draft class will help that.
Nick (48:55.97)
Clark Caitlin Clark. Caitlin Clark.
Neil (49:10.955)
Because it was such a good one. We all saw in college. They were all great players. Like this could help, but I think maybe this could be the fix. This this rookie class could be the fix that we need or that the NBA need.
Nick (49:17.058)
percent.
Nick (49:22.902)
Which is why I asked the question, will this rookie class help you watch more games next year?
Neil (49:27.477)
It could I mean to be determined. Let's put it there. We'll put it to be determined.
Nick (49:31.65)
But no, like, yes, the WNBA, the values of the franchises have risen exponentially over the last couple of years. And the majority of that is because of Caitlin Clark. But Angel Reese's, the page backers, like they deserve credit for it too. But let's be honest, Caitlin Clark is the v is the main reason.
Neil (49:42.59)
Hackers.
Neil (49:50.306)
She was the main recent, yes. But it's been it's sustained. Like it hasn't gotten old. She's now it's cart Caitlin Clark's third year in the league, maybe. People are still watching. Like it's still entertaining.
Nick (49:59.117)
And guess what they just announced? Guess what they had just announced? They're expanding their they're extending their season. They're going to a longer season.
Neil (50:08.043)
Makes more money. People are people are showing up.
Nick (50:08.526)
So and I think it starts next year. No, it and it's great because
Neil (50:13.143)
But even but even Caitlin Clark didn't play in that what was that three on three league that they did in the offseason? You know what I'm talking about? The w but they sold out Philly's arena. Twenty one thousand people went and watched three on three women's basketball and Caitlin Clark wasn't playing.
Nick (50:18.712)
There's there's a couple of Yeah, there's a couple of them.
Nick (50:27.874)
No, and look, they're doing some things right. There's no doubt. There now that's that's separate of the WNBA. That's women's basketball as a whole. But yeah, no, there there is momentum with women's hoops. And I didn't know we were gonna get into this discussion, but I love watching the women's basketball national the NCAA tournament just as much as I like watching the men's. And and look, my
Neil (50:30.325)
It's popular. It's gotten popular. Take it. It's
Neil (50:50.485)
A hundred percent. Maybe not the first rounds, 'cause the first rounds are always blowouts, but yeah, once you get into the the second round, sweet sixteens and beyond, it's it's really quality basketball. It's it's entertaining. It's good.
Nick (51:00.556)
And and look, I understand that my background contributes to that as somebody who worked in women's basketball. And that's gonna be a hot take for most people. And they're gonna be like, dude, you are an idiot. And look, I I'm fine with that. I'm fine with that.
Neil (51:04.789)
Same for me. Same.
Neil (51:12.555)
No, but the the viewership backs it up. Look at the numbers. Look at the viewership numbers. It backs it up.
Nick (51:18.092)
Yeah. But but there's still people that r our friends that refuse to go to Louisville women's basketball games because they think they're above watching women's play basketball. Like it's just it doesn't make any sense to me.
Neil (51:26.167)
Well, our friends are stupid.
Well we agree that Well that's just a stupid stupid mindset.
Nick (51:35.244)
Like where where are we at? Like it's now there are some bad games and some coaches that coach women's hoops will say that, but you know what? There's bad games on the men's side too.
Neil (51:37.185)
It's a stupid mindset.
Neil (51:45.833)
yeah.
Nick (51:47.64)
So it goes both ways.
Neil (51:49.357)
I mean, yeah, women aren't gonna dunk the ball, there's not been any alley oops, but there's some really damn good players that play that game in women's basketball that are worth paying attention to.
Nick (51:57.379)
Good little good little tangent that that you created here. And dude, here's the thing too. You wanna talk Indiana Fever. My Isha now with the fever is now their enforcer. It's it's awesome.
Neil (51:58.946)
Yeah. Coach Walls would be proud of us.
Neil (52:11.759)
she's al I feel like she's always been an enforcer and I mean I remember back when she was with the wings, her and Sophie Cunningham got into it. well she means now they're teammates. And Sophie's kind of an enforcer herself. But no, it's it's fun to watch, man. I I enjoy it.
Nick (52:13.623)
It's awesome.
Nick (52:18.016)
Yes. Yeah.
Nick (52:24.6)
But it because dude, what'd they talk about? Everybody was being really physical with Caitlin Clark and now you gotta go through Myesha if you wanna do that.
Neil (52:31.937)
kinda turned on Caitlin Clark a little bit to be honest with you. Negatively. And now I've kinda gone back to God, I hate her complaining and flailing and doing all that nonsense again.
Nick (52:35.104)
Negatively or positively? Why?
Nick (52:52.366)
Two Lebron esque.
Neil (52:54.485)
Yes. Yes. Except I think she's more she's worse than LeBron in that aspect.
Nick (52:59.82)
She's she's she's too important. Like she's so important to the game. I see what you're saying.
Neil (53:04.887)
She's very important to the game, but like gotta stop. She's gotta stop wh every screen she's throwing her arms in the air. It's like it's just annoying.
Nick (53:12.524)
I'm a I'm a page guy.
Neil (53:14.645)
Like page. Yeah.
Nick (53:15.886)
I'm a page guy. And I don't I didn't like like I said, I didn't know we were getting but if if I got to pick between the two I think I might pick Paige.
Neil (53:26.667)
I would I would pick Paige over. As a i of like a fan favorite? Yes, I would pick Paige over. That's a tough one. I don't about that. Yeah. Okay.
Nick (53:31.286)
I'm paying the on my team, like the run the runner franchise.
Nick (53:37.921)
It is it is tough But she just I don't know. It's and maybe I'm trying to be hot techie, but I've just always been a fan of her game and that I I just appreciate what Caitlin Clark has done for women's basketball as a whole. And yeah. All right. Yeah.
Neil (53:57.462)
Speaking of women's basketball, one more thing. The U Louisville Cardinals non conference schedule was released today. The Yukon Huskies making a trip to the KFC Yum Center this year, so
Nick (54:03.352)
Yeah.
Nick (54:07.928)
Look at you doing your job trying to sell some tickets.
Neil (54:10.677)
Well now.
Nick (54:13.066)
I will say the the travel aspect of that schedule, not too shabby as as if if you have to travel with that team. They're going to Texas and I think that's about it. That wasn't on there yet. But yeah, Texas and America. Yeah.
Neil (54:13.429)
Yeah, fifteen thousand.
Neil (54:26.261)
Alaska.
It was not on there, but they are they are going to play the Great Alaskan shootout. A blast from the past, if anybody remembers those great Alaskan shootouts. But that's they're doing that too.
Nick (54:40.696)
So we gotta talk a little World Cup. Like I'm watching it every single day. regardless of who's playing. I've got my USA jersey finally in, was hoping I would have it for the game on Friday. Get it in the mail the day before, and it is a little snug. Soccer jerseys run a little smaller than football jerseys. So just be aware of that. If you decide to get the I even got the size up and it's still like it fits, but the the arm's still a little shorter than I.
Neil (54:44.972)
Yeah.
Nick (55:09.144)
that I would probably want them to be. But we were all there on Tin Roof on Friday for the USA versus Australia. Couldn't get into Saints after being there for the opener. The game was at three o'clock. They said you had to get there at twelve by twelve fifteen all their tables were full.
Neil (55:26.263)
Well nobody was working Friday, so that contributed to that.
Nick (55:30.102)
Yeah, on your birthday. But good time was Hadball. USA wins two nothing. Even without Christian Pulisic playing, they already know that they they're gonna win their group. So we we get the USA in the round of six in the round of thirty two and they're gonna play what looks like probably a third place team.
Neil (55:50.062)
They will play a third place team. So the round of thirty two will be Wednesday at eight o'clock. So tomorrow's game I I guess doesn't really mean much, if anything. So you're probably gonna see some guys that haven't gotten a lot of playing time in this World Cup yet. You know, get some playing time. I mean, I think he needs to play a little bit just to, you know, get back out there and y you know, you you don't want him
Nick (56:04.792)
With our same coach, it might play. So
Neil (56:12.873)
out too long. So maybe give him a couple give him a little bit of run out there since he missed the last game. but yeah, no, it's US is is off to a great start. looking forward to ten o'clock tomorrow night. It'll be a late one. So hope everybody stays up for that. But then after that round of thirty two Wednesday at eight o'clock against a third place team to be determined. I think what Bosnia, her Her Gcauseovekia or however you pronounce that, was a potential that everybody's been talking about. So it might be then Monday.
Nick (56:40.866)
Well, everybody was saying it's cheer them to win and they won. So
Neil (56:42.645)
Yeah, and they did. So maybe it's them. I don't know. I've I've heard Senegal thrown out there. I don't know. But it's to be determined. We'll know more after these third third games have have been completed this week. So but so far so good. I love it. I mean Messi is being messy, five goals already. It's like the superstars are showing up. You know, Ronaldo two games or two goals yesterday.
Nick (56:59.406)
Yeah. Dude, it's awesome.
Neil (57:05.149)
I mean the superstars in this tournament are showing up for their countries and it it has been absolutely awesome. The fans have been awesome. Like you watch the Scottish fans taking over Miami and taking over Boston and you know, like all these foreigners coming to to the US and just having an absolute great time. So love watching that. Love watching this these teams and it's it's been fun.
Nick (57:25.144)
Yeah, even watching Haiti Morocco, like the game was awesome today. Like Haiti goes up one then they tie it, they go back up two one and then it's two two and finally Morocco pulls away. But yeah, it's just it the fact it's fun to watch every four years, but the fact that it's on American soil, I I think adds definitely adds another element to it. And like you said, to see all these fans reaction coming here from all over the country and seeing what they're they're doing on social media. Just i it's like watching them eat biscuits and gravy is is funny.
Neil (57:43.189)
Yeah, because
Neil (57:51.725)
It's fine.
They're going to Costco's and Buckys and Waffle Houses and yeah. It's their mind their minds have been blown. Eating hot dogs.
Nick (58:00.943)
Like they're like they're like these people eat biscuits and gravy every morning to start their day. No wonder. Like like who c like who can do that anyway? It's more of a a weekend treat, I would hope.
Neil (58:07.383)
No wonder we're so fat over here.
Neil (58:19.477)
No, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nick (58:23.64)
Like I'd eat that and I'd be done for the day.
Neil (58:26.411)
I might eat it like twice a year to be honest. I'm not I'm not a huge biscuits and gravy fan. I don't hate it, but it's not something I normally would order.
Nick (58:31.222)
I'll eat it. I'll eat it. I would never order it out. Like if the fam's cooking breakfast and they've got it, then yeah, I'll I'll put it on the plate. But yeah. Not going to your favorite dairy queen and getting their famed biscuits and gravy. Which that's what they're famous for. And you love their double cheeseburger.
Neil (58:46.647)
I'll think it overdone that I know, I don't know. It's the double cheese. It's all good.
Nick (58:54.102)
The you the jerseys are so good. The USA jerseys. Yes. Yes.
Neil (58:59.355)
the US, the one you're wearing. Yes. Yeah, I agree. One of my favorites that they've had.
Nick (59:03.896)
They're so good. And I I like the alternate one too. But I I do think this one's better. Like the fact like the design with the one of them being the stripes and the other one being the stars, I think is is really cool. And look, we don't have iconic jerseys. Like you know, like Brazil, who's just gonna wear that yellow every time. Or the or the Netherlands in their orange. So so doing some cool stuff with it. I I really like the look of and dude, I paid eighty dollars for this thing.
Neil (59:13.506)
Worse.
Neil (59:19.991)
Brazil, the Brazil yellow, yeah. And Spain red, yeah, yeah.
Neil (59:29.568)
I agree.
I think that's money well spent. You can you can wear it on the fourth of July now too.
Nick (59:37.387)
I I will. And Brazil plays today. And before the Brazil game, we've got a Brazilian psychic going hysterical on social media saying that aliens are gonna evade the World Cup and abduct hundreds of fans live during the match. She has twenty three million followers.
Neil (59:52.78)
Mm-hmm.
Neil (01:00:04.535)
Bring millions.
Nick (01:00:06.124)
How many followers did she lose after her alien prediction did not come to fruition?
Neil (01:00:11.925)
I would hope I would hope twenty three million. If that's what she had, which is insane. I would hope after her prediction was wildly wrong that she loses twenty three million because it's just an absurd thing to say.
Nick (01:00:26.616)
Her I Vo Baha Baja Hiana or something like that. Bo. It's her last name. Her first name is V O and the last name is B-A-H-I-A-N-A. So Baja. She's from she's from Brazil. she's a spiritualist whose real name is Anna Tercia del Sil Silva Gonz Callett. Gallz. Dude, I need to stop this. I'm just embarrassing myself.
Neil (01:00:37.559)
Where's she from? Where's she from? Brazil. Okay.
Neil (01:00:51.36)
gosh, yeah. No, don't even try.
Nick (01:00:54.134)
Yeah, I need to cut that out of the of the recorded version. But yeah, she's going hysterical on the video, saying it's it's aliens are coming. I will say, I was watching most of the Haiti game, but then I turned it on in the second half to see it see if the aliens had shown up or yet. Shown up or not.
Neil (01:01:12.543)
I think it's probably might have been the most watched World Cup game yet. people just turning in to see flying saucers coming down and beams of light and people just getting plucked out of their seats. But it did not happen.
Nick (01:01:15.928)
Yeah.
Nick (01:01:25.432)
Were you expecting like just regular old green aliens or like w if you if you say a aliens are coming down at the World Cup, like what kind of aliens are you expecting?
Neil (01:01:34.753)
Gray. They're probably gonna be gray. I feel like aliens are gray.
Nick (01:01:38.168)
Just those like still got arms and legs, like just and bald bald heads.
Neil (01:01:41.067)
Yeah, with the big old eye like the big black the big black eyes and the bald heads and yeah, like they're just gray though.
Nick (01:01:46.52)
So the the Wimby alien that you see all the t shirts. That that's what so you think we've got it down exactly what an alien looks like?
Neil (01:01:49.505)
Yeah, I think they're my my my and I think they're short. I think aliens are short. I think like an alien be about your height.
Nick (01:01:58.274)
What makes you think that?
Neil (01:01:59.36)
I just think that they're short people. I don't know why. I just think that they're short.
Nick (01:02:01.933)
Are you confusing aliens and palumpas? 'Cause umpalumpas are not aliens.
Neil (01:02:04.937)
No, no. Umpalumpas are gray and orange and no, they're gray and they're green and orange. No. I'm talking about little little gray guys with big big old heads and black big black eyes and they're gray and they got little short arms and short legs.
Nick (01:02:10.99)
Okay. But just
Nick (01:02:18.584)
So we just we haven't predicted exactly what they look like already. That's what they look like on the Wimby t-shirts. So somehow even though we haven't seen we know exactly what they look like.
Neil (01:02:29.461)
I think that there are people that might have seen but they just won't tell you about it.
Nick (01:02:34.24)
I would so here's my thing. I this is what I think aliens look like. And the Simpsons have predicted how many things accurately over there. Like so many things.
Neil (01:02:41.921)
I don't know if that's true. I think that's just like people say that and they just do like an AI creation of the Simpsons and the you
Nick (01:02:46.53)
Look, it's the Simpsons have predicted so many things. It's way before AI, bro. But that's what the aliens look like. Those big green with like tentacles, that's what that's what aliens look like.
Neil (01:02:58.765)
I mean Futurama was a thing. Remember watching Futurama? The cartoon? Maybe that's what it yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Nick (01:03:02.146)
Of course. That's it. It's the same Samson people.
I mean I what's the main character on Futurama?
Neil (01:03:12.375)
I don't remember. He's that alien now.
Nick (01:03:15.511)
No, he's a robot.
Neil (01:03:16.925)
well there was the robot, there was the alien, then there was like the normal guy. I don't remember. I didn't either.
Nick (01:03:21.846)
I didn't watch it that much. But the like it he's kinda looks like Homer Simpson as a robot.
Neil (01:03:27.435)
Yeah, I know what you're talking about.
Nick (01:03:30.508)
Yeah, we don't we don't need to break down Futurama.
at the Marlins game, there was a dog that went that went famous.
Neil (01:03:38.721)
Little dog night. I mean like yeah, like you know, like baseball teams do their dog day at the park in the park and all that and you bring your your K nine friends to enjoy a little baseball game with you. Yeah, that's what they did.
Nick (01:03:50.626)
But one dog specifically went viral. So there's a dog getting fed a hot dog.
Neil (01:04:00.566)
Yeah. And
Nick (01:04:00.904)
And right behind him is another dog that did not get fed a hot dog.
Neil (01:04:06.209)
He's he's watching this dog's getting fed a hot dog by his owners, and the dog is just so excited, just scarfing down this gorgeous thing of pig leftovers. And then we've got little buddy in the background just staring at it with the saddest look on his face that he's not getting getting fed a delicious hot dog. And it breaks your heart. No, he's staring.
Nick (01:04:24.128)
And his head does not move. And you know, you know for an absolute fact there's saliva just dropping down the side of his mouth and dripping down onto the concrete floor. But they put out a social media post to try to find the dog because they wanted to take care of it, give him hi his best day. My hope is that the owners have contacted the Miami Marlins and that is something that i is in the works.
Neil (01:04:34.593)
Poor guy. Poor guy.
Poor guy.
Neil (01:04:53.527)
So there was an update they did they did find out who what the who's the dog was and who owns the dog. So I think that it it might have a happy ending and hopefully this dog gets several hot dogs. They were gonna treat him to a a a basically a VIP experience at a Marlins game. So I don't know what that means. I don't know if you go out, you play a little fetch on the field, maybe a little frisbee in the outfield, you know, like maybe let chase a tennis ball or something, and you hit a couple couple dingers at it. I don't know, which I don't know what you do, but
Nick (01:05:05.592)
Yeah, more than
Nick (01:05:16.939)
yeah.
Neil (01:05:23.403)
Hope he gets
Nick (01:05:23.426)
I would sprinkle sprinkle hot dogs and begin strips began strips, put
Neil (01:05:26.615)
Get him like a helmet colour give him a little helmet ice cream. Get a little helmet ice cream, little soft serve and a Marlin's helmet.
Nick (01:05:32.664)
Yeah, put put a little little those little f one foot pools, have those all over the place, have sprinklers going off, you know, have things around for him to chase. Like maybe put some cats out there.
Yeah.
Neil (01:05:49.333)
Okay. I don't think we go that far, but maybe, yeah. Okay.
Nick (01:05:52.184)
But like just let the little buddy go nuts. Like he deserves it.
Neil (01:05:54.261)
Yeah. He definitely deserves it. And get him a hot dog.
Nick (01:05:57.452)
And dogs are dogs are the best.
Neil (01:05:59.618)
Dogs are the greatest animals on earth. Or yes, on earth.
Nick (01:06:03.042)
Yeah, except yourself. Nobody can s nobody can see it or pet it because it'll bite their head hand off, which is unfortunate. But
Neil (01:06:10.903)
Don't bite mine. Loves me.
Nick (01:06:13.388)
I would hope so. He lives with you. But every single time we're over the house, dog goes in the room because he will bite everybody's head off.
Neil (01:06:21.613)
Don't don't come in her house.
Nick (01:06:24.418)
what I'm doing and yeah she don't want us there a couple weeks ago we gotta close with this and this is yeah we had talked about golf challenge we had talked specifically about the third hole at at the University of Louisville golf club which is a hundred and sixty yard bar three
Neil (01:06:38.423)
Yeah.
Neil (01:06:46.508)
Yeah.
Nick (01:06:48.446)
And just a couple days before that I had put it on the green in one shot. But our proposal was you get three shots, you put on the green, and any of those three, you make five million dollars. But if you miss it, you go directly to jail. Handcuffed. Handcuffed as you walk off the T bar.
Neil (01:07:06.123)
And I declined, I declined the challenge. Yes, I declined the challenge. You accepted the challenge.
Nick (01:07:13.122)
So we played some golf yesterday. We we took the Bruces out. My dad's name is Bruce. Your father in law's name is Bruce. We took the Bruces out for Father's Day.
Neil (01:07:15.543)
We did.
Neil (01:07:23.169)
Which before you we did learn they also have the same middle name. Wow. Wow.
Nick (01:07:26.68)
They do. Bru they're both Bruce Allen. One spells it A L A N and the other A L L E N. So they're very different. I and dude randomly on the fifteenth hole. Like they just ask each other, Hey, are you are you your middle name Alan? Yeah, might have and then they hug each other and they walk off. I'm also an Allen A L A N. So you were the only one without the middle name of Alan out there. But we we get to the box on three.
Neil (01:07:33.269)
Random, but also awesome.
Nick (01:07:55.791)
And I'm like, I guess we're gonna do this, right? Yeah, yeah. So hit my first ball, and this is my ball that I'm playing. So this is my ball that counts. Cause I'd parred the first two holes making bombs. So I was trying to keep a good score going. I pull the little one, I pulled the first one left, which is the safe play on that hole. Because you don't want to go in the water. And it didn't turn at all.
Neil (01:07:58.701)
Mm-hmm.
Neil (01:08:09.985)
You did. Yep.
Neil (01:08:21.131)
Right.
Nick (01:08:24.152)
So I found myself in the bunker on on the left side of the green. You have two more chances. So then second shot, I felt like I hit it really good. Going straight at it for the most part. And it rode onto the green and into the rough over the green, right?
Neil (01:08:25.943)
Straight bunker. Yep.
Neil (01:08:49.257)
No, your first one I thought was short. I couldn't tell. It rolled it rolled up onto the green and then took a hard right turn 'cause the it slopes that way. And then it rolled into the rough off the ro the front right. Yeah. So all hit the green, rolls off the green, into the rough.
Nick (01:08:51.384)
There's
Nick (01:08:56.118)
Okay, that was that was the second one.
To the right, to the right, towards the water.
And then the third one was the one I hit the best. And that's going straight at it and honestly had too much on it. And rolls straight over the green through through the fringe. Into the into the into the first little cut. So if this was a real life thing, you boy. Well, there's no warrant, like we said, that you you're handcuffed right there.
Neil (01:09:07.244)
Yeah.
Neil (01:09:18.453)
And into the rough.
Neil (01:09:26.263)
Popo's there's a warrant out for your arrest. The popo's are gonna show up at your door.
Neil (01:09:34.977)
You couldn't even finish the one?
Nick (01:09:35.708)
No, you're done.
Neil (01:09:38.539)
So yeah, you you should be in jail or if th if this was a real challenge, you would be in jail right now. You'd have three hundred and sixty four more days to go. What were you gonna do in there to survive?
Nick (01:09:50.671)
I guess I'll write a manifesto about why you shouldn't take a challenge of that magnitude and be a be a risk taker. I will say like I may I
Neil (01:10:03.797)
That was that was with no pressure. If it was really yeah. Yeah.
Nick (01:10:06.326)
No, without without without question. Without question. I mean you still feel a little bit because you want to make it, but yeah, the pressure is nowhere near what it would have been in a real situation. I hit three good shots. And like if I would've hit one or two bad shots in one good one, like I felt good about the way I hit all three balls. Does that help or keep me from going to jail? No. I also will say walking up to that box.
Like I was overconfident, there's no doubt, because I had just done it and put it to fifteen feet. I told you, this is a lot more intimidating shot than than I thought. And it was it was pretty much the same box. It wasn't back any farther than I think the last time that we played it.
Neil (01:10:53.793)
No, same box.
Nick (01:10:55.852)
But yeah, I was like this is a little 'cause you gotta turn it a little bit. Because I think what happened on the third one is I went straight at it and when you land it, you just I don't with the club that I have to hit because I don't hit the ball far enough, it's just you you don't get enough room to land it on the grain.
Neil (01:11:11.723)
Yeah, you don't get a lot of height under your yeah, your
Nick (01:11:14.456)
So that's why I think when I did it a couple weeks ago, I turned that ball in, which was what I was trying to do with the first one. But
Going to jail. And I don't have any get out of jail free cards, unfortunately.
Neil (01:11:27.437)
So
Nick (01:11:29.486)
When's the last time you played Monopoly?
Neil (01:11:32.577)
The wow. The wow.
Nick (01:11:35.214)
Do you enjoy it?
Neil (01:11:36.471)
Yes. I do enjoy Monopoly. One of the better board games that that there is.
Nick (01:11:41.358)
I mean you you gotta be ready for three, four hours of just rolling those dice and going around the track.
Neil (01:11:47.541)
Yeah, pour yourself a drink, get your beer, you know settle in. You'll be all right.
Nick (01:11:52.163)
Ma maybe we should have a monopoly night. Y'all always doing poker over there. Maybe we should do a monopoly night. I'm down. I'm down. But birthday for festivities this weekend, I hope we're good.
Neil (01:11:57.313)
Do Monopoly. I could do that.
Neil (01:12:05.355)
Yeah. They were. The birthday, Father's Day double. We went to the you were there, went out to the the Catholic Church picnic at Sa Saint Albert, had a good time. Maybe too good of a time, maybe you had too good of a time.
Nick (01:12:07.384)
We did.
Nick (01:12:18.52)
Time good good times we're having. Handing money to everybody, letting them play beat the dealer. It was it was it was the it was a good time out there. We are our boy Mike Vanover was the one dealing, so we're all playing. And eventually you're gonna lose. Eventually you're gonna lose. But Catholic picnics are always fun. Last year we went to St. Michael's. That I'm sure that one's coming up here pretty soon. So
Neil (01:12:24.258)
Yeah.
Neil (01:12:33.003)
I did not beat him. Yep, I lost.
Neil (01:12:43.787)
Yep. We'll do that again. We gotta do that again. Yep.
Nick (01:12:50.688)
All right, so how far before we wrap, how far do you think USA's gonna go?
Neil (01:12:58.741)
I think this team gets to the round of sixteen. No, but they wait, they win the first thirty two. Yes, I think they get to eight. I think they win two games in the knockout stage. So thirty two and then they win the sixteen.
Nick (01:13:02.146)
They k Can they get to eight?
I think I can tight.
Nick (01:13:12.906)
And look, we talk about the NCAA tournament. I know this is a little different, but when it's one and done, anything can happen. So you get to eight and who knows, but I I think if they say get to eight, it's it's an accomplishment. For sure.
Neil (01:13:28.525)
I mean, we Cape Verde out there tying Spain, so if they can do that then, you know, you c anything can happen. You're right.
Nick (01:13:32.108)
Yeah. No more no more ties once you once you get to the next round.
Get the PKs. Woof.
If you a if could you make a PK or go to jail or you get five thousand or five million dollars?
Neil (01:13:48.353)
Hell no. I'm going to s I'm going to jail if I take that. Hell no.
Nick (01:13:51.631)
What what if so if you had to either take the PK or be the goldkeeper, which one are you picking? So you have to do it. You don't have a choice.
So it's either gonna be a professional soccer player taking the PK and you have to save it, or you're the ta or you're the taker and you're
Neil (01:14:09.685)
Yeah, no, I'm I'm taking. I'm the take. I'm the take it 'cause the I'm I'm gonna kick it one direction and I'm hoping that the goalie picks the wrong way. I've got no chance of probably stopping a a a professional PK.
Nick (01:14:22.498)
Well I have zero. Like I have to kick it because I have zero chance of being the go kicker.
Neil (01:14:27.659)
Yeah, I I'm I I think you gotta kick it. You gotta kick it.
Nick (01:14:30.774)
Now look, I have I'm I'm going to jail because I have no chance of putting enough power on that kick. Even if he even if he guesses wrong, I think the goalie might be able to get up off his belly, get back up, go to the entire side of the other goal, and then pick up the ball that I just kicked. And and and save it. But excited for the World Cup tomorrow.
Neil (01:14:46.754)
Yeah.
Nick (01:14:53.622)
Excited for the whole thing. we're gonna get out of here. reminder, describe the height differential. However you listen to pods, rate and leave your review. And then follow us at the height differential on all social platforms. Did we do do you need to tell how the kiddos did in the swim meet on on Monday? Did you wanna give them a shot?
Neil (01:15:15.415)
kids did great. Yep. Hopper won two ribbons. Bennett won a first place ribbon for winning her heat in in the freestyle. They both set personal records in the freestyle. which was great. so yeah, kids are are doing well. They've qualified for the basically the big swim meet at the end of the year, so they're doing good. Doing good.
Nick (01:15:38.075)
I got two nephews playing in All Stars this weekend, so excited to go to South Own and watch Valley Sports. Try to win what a 10U and the 7U, I think. All Star tournaments. So a lot going on. But for that idiot, the six foot six nil, I am this idiot that is should be in jail right now, the four foot ten Nick. You've been listening to I Differential. We'll talk to you next week. You
Neil (01:16:14.209)
That was a good horse racing segment.
Nick (01:16:18.754)
The fact that we threw it together last second, yeah, I think it's all right.
Neil (01:16:21.943)
Yeah. No, we do both.
Can't have too many haters on that one. Maybe
Nick (01:16:28.494)
gonna f we're gonna find out. Because look dude, here are the like let me tell you these numbers. It's wild. On Facebook, I say, would you rather start late the Scotty, what's the best draw? Three hundred and eight views. I put in the one million dollars in insane short, five hundred and seventy five views. Sovereignty versus golden tempo, four point one thousand.
Neil (01:16:42.668)
Yeah.
Neil (01:16:55.063)
Don't get it.
Nick (01:16:55.448)
Top is should Golden Tempo be in the top 10, 4.4,000. Nysos or Golden Tempo? 14.2,000. the Sky Scheffler or Gel, the one we did or gel, that one got 2,000. So that one did okay. Matt doubling down on Golden Tempo, 6.6,000. Did Golden Tempo miss history by not racing the preakness 5.3? Golden Tempo proved just wrong 11.7.
Will Golden Timbo ever win again? Fifty three point one thousand? Like our Belmont State picks nine thousand.
Neil (01:17:28.798)
Three thousand.
Fifty three thousand people watched the most yeah.
Nick (01:17:34.24)
Hey, and and then you can only have one condiment for life, seven hundred and forty five.
Neil (01:17:40.685)
I don't get it. I don't get it.
Nick (01:17:41.262)
Doesn't make any sense.
So we will keep leading with horse racing on Facebook. Until we can figure that out. But also, our followers are now up to five hundred and forty-six. I think at the beginning of the month we had 200. So we just gotta keep doing what we're doing. Alright, I'm getting out. Hold on, hold on, let me stop it.
Neil (01:17:48.577)
Yeah.
Neil (01:18:00.398)
That's good. That's good. All right.
