Nobody Asked for a 76-Team NCAA Basketball Tournament

The NCAA Tournament is reportedly expanding to 76 teams, and while we all knew it was coming, it still feels unnecessary. March Madness didn’t need more mediocre teams, more play-in games, or extra “opening round” games that nobody really cares about.

The biggest problem? Smaller schools and 16 seeds are the ones getting punished. Teams that already earned their spot may now have to survive an extra game just for the chance to face a 1 seed.
